DYPA: Extension for social tourism applications

The platform for submitting applications for participation in the “2024-2025 Social Tourism Program” of the Public Employment Service (DYPA), regardless of the NIF of the beneficiaries, will remain open from Monday June 10, 00:00 a.m. to Tuesday June 11, 2024 at 10:00:00. Please note that today, Sunday June 9, 2024, only beneficiaries whose VAT numbers end in 7, 8 and 9 submit their request on the platform.

The program will begin on July 1, 2024 and will involve 300,000 checks, with a budget of 50 million euros, increased by 43% compared to last year, while overall, the program budget has quadrupled over the last 5 years.

How many people went on vacation with social tourism checks in May – Where did they go?

The check is a unique number for each individual beneficiary and beneficiary, who can stay up to 6 nights in the accommodation of their choice in the DYPA “Provider Register”, after their agreement with the provider, with little participation private.

Especially in Leros, Lesvos, Chios, Kos and Samos, up to 10 nights can be spent free of charge (no private participation), while in the municipalities of N. Evia and Evros, up to 12 nights can be spent free of charge, to which Thessaly is added this year (except Sporades).

Subsidized prices remain increased by 20% for the peak month of August, with a corresponding subsidy of 20% for the Christmas (15.12.2024 to 14.01.2025) and Easter (11.04.2025 to 27.04) periods. 2025). The increased subsidy is valid all year round for accommodation in Northern Euboea, Evros and Thessaly (except Sporades).

In addition to accommodation in tourist accommodation, ferry tickets are also subsidized. Participation is 25%, while tickets are free for disabled people. It should be noted that the program provides special scoring for single parents and people with disabilities, as well as increased scoring for low-income beneficiaries.

In addition, for people with disabilities, the possibility of participation is provided every year, the right to support and no private participation in ferry tickets, while no penalty is imposed on them if they do not use their checks. For parents, increased points are provided for each minor child. This year, for the first time, those who did not receive a check in the past or who did not receive a check due to their grades in the last two programs receive points.

The beneficiaries are:

  • employees with a dependent employment relationship under private law or
  • insured with the eEFKA in their professional category with contributions for the DYPA unemployment sector at any time from 01.01.2023 or
  • unemployed people with a continuous period of unemployment of at least three months at the application deadline.

Family income cannot exceed 30,000 euros, while for the long-term unemployed (12 months or more of unemployment), different income criteria apply, as described in the public invitation.

The selection of beneficiaries is based on the rating of specific criteria (disabled, single parent, number of children, income, first participation in the program) in an objective and transparent manner through the DYPA Integrated Information System (ISIS).

Employees and unemployed people subsidized in the social tourism program of another organization for the same period and those (except disabled people) who received a check under the 2023-24 program cannot participate in the program.

Supporting documents related to the conditions of participation or the rating of beneficiaries are automatically requested. In cases where it is not possible to search ex officio, supporting documents are attached to the applications.
