Lourdes, a land of opportunities to enhance and develop your financial capital” This is the message that the financiers of the SCI du dernier Angles project, led by Louis Carreno, wanted to convey at the time of the inauguration of the brand new building located at 1, rue de la grotte just above the excellent Sajous delicatessen. The opportunity for a beautiful inauguration to encourage potential investors and project leaders to come and work in the Marian city, this is in any case the wish of the mayor of Lourdes, Thierry Lavit: “Today we had the pleasure of inaugurating a renovated building located on rue de la grotte thanks to the commitment of the SCI du Dernier Angle. This project was made possible thanks to the exceptional mobilization of the partners involved in Action Cœur de Ville and the Plan Avenir Lourdes. The State, ANAH, Action Logement, the Occitanie Region, the Department of Hautes-Pyrénées, the Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrénées Urban Community, the City of Lourdes and the banks contributed 90% to support this project. The aid from OPAHRU of CATLP, Action Logement via Action Cœur de Ville and the Department of Hautes-Pyrénées was essential for the renovation of the housing. Actions 45 and 66 of the Lourdes Future Plan were implemented for the renovation of the store and the facade of this building, thus illustrating our commitment to the renewal of our city.”
An ideal and symbolic location too: “I am delighted to participate in this inauguration because the rue de la Grotte is an emblematic street of the city. These are 6 apartments that are created here. I want to thank Louis Carreno, the project leader, because without project leaders, no projects, it is logical and without all this help, it is difficult to set up a project. We are very happy to see this in the city center because it is a positive mechanism that is being put in place. I want to thank the Region, the Department, the State and the CATLP”. Louis Carreno also wanted to thank those who supported him, the financiers “without whom we would not have been able to do this project. Thank you to Action Logement for the long-term loan. Each project is a human adventure, I want to thank Jérôme Chapelet, my architect who has been with me for a long time and I want to thank the craftsmen who advised us so well”.
“Bringing life back into the city centre”
For the representative of Action Logement, this project is “of extreme quality”: “The project leader is essential. Action Logement intervenes on the financial side of the program with loans at attractive rates and a subsidy if necessary. This type of project contributes to the revitalization of Lourdes and its economy, it is a very rich partnership.”
Marie Plane, for the departmental council, recalled the importance of these initiatives: “These are housing units intended for rental with intermediate rents. The department is alongside these project leaders who are helping to bring life back into the city centre and put decent housing on the market”. David Larrazabal, the elected official in charge of the housing commission at CATLP, praised “a magnificent project”: “The Action cœur de ville is very important in order to get housing out of the wasteland and support economic activity. I want to congratulate the investors but also the mayor, dear Thierry, because this city deserves to see a little more light and I hope you have many more projects”. The tour then organised allowed visitors to discover well-lit housing units, some of which have a breathtaking view of the fortified castle, a fine example of success in terms of housing.
