Alia also joined in the online celebrations and posted some behind-the-scenes pictures from the sets of the film.

The actress also shared a throwback video of her iconic sari look. The latest picture featured the entire team of RRKPK posing together.

Meanwhile, KJo penned a heartfelt note to the cast and crew expressing his gratitude. The filmmaker wrote, “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani turns 1 today – and I am so happy… so happy! I am so humbled and grateful for the overwhelming amount of love that has been showered on me over the last year. The film was a celebration of Hindi cinema and I am so honoured to have had such a celebrated cast and crew on the film!!!!,” Karan Johar wrote on Instagram.

“@ranveersingh and @aliaabhatt have my heart forever! The best Rocky and Rani ever!!! Both of them made my life and work so easy! They came… I saw and they conquered… I love you both since my last life…” the post read.

RRKPK also played Jaya BachchanDharmendra, Shabana Azmi and Tota Roy Chowdhury in pivotal roles. The film, which marked Karan’s return to the directorial role, was a huge success. It drew audiences to the theatres and became the tenth highest-grossing Indian film.
