The RN’s plan on bans linked to DPE “would be extremely dangerous for the building”

Sylvain Lefevre, president of Synergiec, reacted to Jordan Bardella’s proposal to lift the bans linked to DPE. He recalls, in particular, that the work of many craftsmen depends on this device.

The National Rally plans to remove the rental ban thermal strainers. During an interview on France 2, Jordan Bardella announced: “I will, first of all, relax regulations on DPE. Today, the prohibitions linked to the energy performance diagnosis, when you want to sell your home or rent it, are so complicated that it immobilizes and paralyzes the entire housing market.” And he added: “I will lift the bans linked to ECD”.

The JDD specifies that the DPE would be maintained as a measurement tool. It would make it possible to estimate the renovation work to be carried out, but the ban on renting would be abandoned.

“We must shift the calendar, not withdraw it”

An idea that worries some professionals. Sylvain Lefevre, president of Synergiec, a national intermediary in banking operations and payment services dedicated to energy renovation, recalls that we “cannot erase the DPE and its impact on the value of the property overnight”. But if it is true that the timetable is difficult to maintain and risks accelerating the shortage of rental housing, “this committed movement of renovation is important. We must go for it. We must shift the timetable, not withdraw it. That would be a shame.”

In addition, Sylvain Lefevre points out an important argument: “Renovation represents 4 million direct and indirect jobs, especially in the territories”. Thus, the RN’s proposal “would hinder the economic future of a lot of people”. He recalls that the building is a disaster sector and that renovation is its last lung. Stopping the renovation obligation “would be extremely dangerous for the building”.
